Old Man In The Sea!
My initial reaction to the old man in the sea. My initial reaction is that it is a good story so far. It is very good at drawing you in and allowing you to get interested in the story. I really like how he describes what the old man and the boys relationship and characters act like and what there personality is. I think that in the future the old man will catch a really big fish and not be able to land it and will supposedly die. I felt that the author doesn’t really want us to get attached or know much about the other fisherman, so I don’t think that he will play a big roll in the story. I also think that the boy will not stay on his ship for long due to the fact that he doesn’t have any respect for the other fisherman. A particular line that stood out to me was:
Your my alarm clock, the boy said
I think this particular line stood out for me because it kind of sums up the relationship that the boy has with the old man. He cares about him and trusts him enough to allow him to wake him up. He also wants the old man to be there even if he is only there to wake him up.
